Out of the Blue has won the "Best Student Project" award at the Gulf Coast Film & Video Festival! As our last festival entry, we could not be happier to go out on a win! Out of the Blue has been announced as an official selection of the Gulf Coast Film and Video Festival in Houston, Texas. This was our final festival submission, meaning that this is your last chance to catch Out of the Blue on the big screen! All website updates are now complete and we are beginning our final marketing push to get copies of the film out there! Thanks to everyone that supported Cory and I in this endeavor. It's safe to say that its success far exceeded our expectations! If you haven't done so already, please check out the website and consider purchasing a copy of Out of the Blue. The film is a wonderful resource to learn the issues surrounding marine mammal strandings and the funds go to a great cause! Copies of Out of the Blue are now shipping (finally)! We've finished submitting to festivals and none of those remaining require that the film be unreleased, so we're in the clear! If you pre-ordered a copy, you will be receiving it shortly! If not, you can order one now! Stay tuned as we update the website and ordering pages, we'll be providing a rundown of the bonus content on the discs shortly. Remember that any profits will go towards a great cause! Out of the Blue has won the "Best Student Filmmaker" award at the Blue Ocean Film Festival & Conservation Summit! It was an amazing honor to be showcased and selected amongst the greatest ocean films of the year. Cory and I were able to meet many inspiring people that are making progress in saving our environment. Out of the Blue has been announced as a finalist in the student film category of the BLUE Ocean Film Festival and Conservation Event. Out of the Blue will be screened amongst the greatest ocean conservation films of the year and be exposed to key figures in the industry. Dixie State College- DOCUTAH Southern Utah International Documentary Film Festival is proud to announce that documentarian Matthew Stamm and his film entitled “Out of the Blue” has been selected to be screened at the 2012 film festival.
The Third-Annual DOCUTAH Southern Utah International Film Festival, presented by Dixie State College of Utah, will take place September 5-9, 2012, in St. George, Utah. Festival goers come for the films, stay for the scenery and depart having experienced inspiration.
The 2012 DOCUTAH Festival will feature 67 professional and student films. Additional student films will also be screened. These films were submitted by professional and student filmmakers from 27 different countries. The festival also features an academic component by offering master class seminars and filmmaker panels whereby students and professional documentarians can learn the art of filmmaking.
